Dechert has announced that Kevin P Scanlan has joined the firm as a partner in the financial services group. He is based in the firm’s New York office and was previously a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Scanlan, 37, focuses his practice on the structuring and formation of and investment in international and domestic private investment funds, particularly hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, and fund-of-funds.
He also advises these funds in connection with their subsequent investment activities. His clients include large, well-established funds and managers as well as first-time funds of high quality emerging managers. Scanlan regularly lectures and serves as a panelist at private investment fund industry conferences and has published numerous articles focused on private investment fund issues.

A graduate of Fordham University (BA, 1993), Fordham University School of Law (JD, 1997). Scanlan is admitted to practice in New York.
