Level E creates managed account platform and sees significant new investment

Related Topics

Level E Ltd, the Edinburgh-based provider of advanced financial market trading analytics, has launched a managed accounts platform, providing those wishing to harness the company’s leading artificial intelligence-based trading systems with a cost-effective, flexible entry point.

The managed account platform lets investors track the performance of Level E Ltd’s artificial intelligence-driven, quantitative trading strategies while retaining control and access to their funds. The platform has already attracted capital commitments of USD25 million from a US-based alternative investment group, with further investment expected in the near future. Level E Ltd’s quantitative trading methodology underpins the groundbreaking Level E Capital SICAV, an absolute return fund that launched last year and which is also seeing significant levels of investor interest.

“We have shown that advanced computing and artificial intelligence can, finally, be used to create successful, systematic trading strategies. The significant inflows we are seeing into our new managed account platform is testament to the veracity of this powerful new technology,” says Dr Sonia Schulenburg (pictured), Edinburgh-based chief executive and founder of Level E Limited.

Academic advances and increases in computing power mean that artificial intelligence is rapidly shifting from being a largely theoretical field to one in which real-world problems are being addressed. Artificial intelligence has already led to significant advances in engineering (some passenger airlines now have engines designed using genetic algorithms, for instance) and in medical treatments. The next step in this migration is the application of ‘continuous learning’ to predicting outcomes in the financial markets, the underlying characteristics of which are highly non-linear.

“Attempts to apply neural network technology to market trading have been made in the past, but current advances mean that the possibilities of artificial technology, in terms of its application to financial trading, can finally be made real,” says Dr Schulenburg.

Level E Ltd, staffed by artificial intelligence and quantitative finance experts, is at the forefront of this development.
