Litman Gregory Masters Alternative Strategies Fund passes USD250m in assets

Related Topics

The Litman Gregory Masters Alternative Strategies Fund (MASFX) has passed USD250 million in net assets – just six months after the fund launched on 30 September, 2011.

"Demand for the fund continues to exceed our expectations," says Ken Gregory, Chief Investment Strategist and Founding Partner of Litman Gregory. "We, like a lot of other investors, believe that the investment environment will remain at an elevated risk level for a number of years. Alternative strategies that seek to offer relatively low correlation to stocks and bonds, relatively low risk, and the potential for above average risk-adjusted returns may be appealing. This fund provides investors with access to world-class managers of alternative strategies, at a reasonable cost, in a public mutual fund structure. The multi-manager structure is a particularly appealing feature of this fund."

The Litman Gregory Masters Alternative Strategies Fund is a multi-manager, multi-strategy fund that combines alternative and absolute-return-oriented strategies chosen based on Litman Gregory’s conviction that each individual manager’s strategy is compelling, and that collectively the strategies are well diversified. The fund seeks long-term returns with lower risk and lower volatility than the stock market, and with relatively low correlation to stock and bond market indexes at a reasonable cost.
