Rokos Capital Management, the hedge fund run by billionaire investor Chris Rokos, is looking to raise up to $3 billion in fresh capital on the back of record gains for its global macro fund, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Jana Partners has ramped up the pressure on Freshpet to consider a sale of the business by recruiting industry expert Kurt Schmidt to help with its campaign and possibly serve as a director candidate for the pet food company, according to a report by Reuters.
The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that Jana Partners, which reported owning a 9.9% stake in Freshpet in September, has added Schmidt to a group of advisers that already includes a former Kraft Foods chief financial officer and a former chief executive officer at Jarden Corp.
Schmidt, who currently serves as a director at
Kevin Kang, the co-founder of crypto hedge fund BKCoin was fired in October for allegedly misappropriating $12 million in investor money from three of the firm’s multi-strategy funds, according to a report by CoinDesk.
New York-based hedge fund Fir Tree Capital Management is suing Grayscale Investments in a bid to secure access to information that could be used to force changes in the way the firm runs its $10.7 billion flagship Bitcoin Trust fund, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Fir Tree filed a law suit against Greyscale on 6 December at the Delaware Court of Chancery in a bid to force Grayscale to lower its fees, begin stock redemptions and hand over documents relating to its relationship with the Digital Currency Group.
