Nasdaq is to acquire Chi-X Canada, an Alternative Trading System for Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Securities, from Chi-X Global.
The acquisition will provide Nasdaq with direct access to the Canadian equities market. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016, and be accretive to the company's earnings at closing, excluding transaction-related costs.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has commended the US Administration, Senate and House of Representatives for taking action to strengthen global information sharing by signing into law legislation that removes Dodd-Frank’s indemnification provisions.
Eliminating these barriers to data sharing marks an important step in ensuring regulators globally obtain a consolidated and accurate view of the over-the-counter derivatives marketplace. DTCC has been a long-standing advocate for removal of the indemnification provisions and applauds Members of Congress and policymakers – both former and current – who supported this non-controversial, technical fix.

Elian has formally completed its acquisition of SFM Europe. Merging Elian's existing International Finance team and the SFM Europe team, the combined service line will be made up of more than 150 employees, and it will be led by SFM Europe CEO, Robert Berry.
SFM Europe offers services for the management of securitisations, structured finance and asset finance to global banks, investment managers and blue chip corporates. The completion of this acquisition significantly bolsters and expands Elian’s international finance offering.
The deal, which was announced in September, brings Elian’s head count to 640 employees and increases its geographical spread
Euronext has joined the United Nations' Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative which aims to explore how exchanges can work with investors, regulators, and companies to enhance corporate transparency on Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) issues.
Euronext’s five market operators Euronext Amsterdam, Euronext Brussels, Euronext Lisbon, Euronext London and Euronext Paris have voluntarily committed – through dialogue with investors, companies and regulators – to promote sustainable, long-term investment and improved ESG governance disclosure and performance among the companies listed on their exchange.
