Despite Malta introducing a legal framework for securitisation in 2006, the financial crash meant that it was rarely used until around 2012. But there are signs that securitisation is gaining some momentum locally. This is being helped by a dedicated regulated market for wholesale securities, the European Wholesale Securities Market (`EWSM'); a joint venture between the Irish Stock Exchange and Malta Stock Exchange established in 2012 that allows the listing of wholesale-denominated debt securities to trade on an EU-regulated market.

Insignis provides daily automated collection, aggregation and management of financial data, including data on positions, transactions and complex instruments such as exchange-traded futures and options, OTC swaps and foreign exchange spot and forward contracts. Insignis’ data footprint today covers 35 custodians, 15 futures brokers and 20 OTC managers with over USD2 trillion in market value.

Maples Fund Services has been selected by Promeritum Investment Management (Promeritum) as administrator for the Promeritum Fund SPC, an emerging market fixed income hedge fund.
Maples Fund Services will provide full administration services, including fund accounting, registrar transfer agent and FATCA services for the fund.
