Mountain Point Credit Management LLC (Mountain Point), a systematic loan manager, has launched a US broadly syndicated loan investment platform with over $1.3bn in assets under management. The firm is led by Founder and CEO Kelly Byrne, who brings two decades of experience in the credit markets, and was previously senior portfolio manager and head of capital markets at Voya Investment Management.
The firm’s proprietary strategy provides insight into more than 1,000 issuers. Byrne is joined by Head of Loan Trading Tim Maloney, who previously launched and led Citigroup’s CLO optimisation business.
Phil Li serves as the CFO and COO, after previously holding the same positions at Marble Point Credit Management. Steve Rubich, former Chief Information Officer at Contrarian Capital Management, leads the firm’s technology infrastructure as the CTO.
