Kevin Lawi has joined Credit Suisse Asset Management’s direct lending team within the Credit Investments Group as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in Private Credit, and will serve as head of origination.
Lawi joins CSAM from the private credit business of PSP, one of Canada’s largest pension funds, where he served as a Senior Director responsible for origination and underwriting and led the industrials and FIG industry verticals.
In his new role, he will focus on originating transactions across the capital structure, including direct first lien, unitranche, second lien and preferred equity financings.

BMLL and WBR Insights have published new buyside research exploring how market participants use Level 3 data and analytics in their daily trading decisions to uncover predictive signals for algorithmic performance.
The Whitepaper “Buy-side usage of Level 3 data analytics for algorithmic performance” found that high quality data has become a commonly utilised commodity by most market participants who manage their AUM quantitatively; 74 per cent of respondents said they use Level 3 data in their research program to improve alpha generation and mitigate risk.

Blackstone – the world’s largest alternative investment manager – has seen its group-wide assets increase by 8 per cent, though its hedge fund capital fell slightly last year, despite positive performance amid “significantly less volatility than the broader markets”.
The group, which runs a range of hedge fund, private equity, credit, real estate, and alternative products, saw its total assets under management swell to USD618.6 billion in 2020 – an 8 per cent year-on-year increase from 2019’s total of USD571.1 billion, with Q4 2020 inflows numbering USD32.3 billion.
