European Commodity Clearing (ECC), the clearing house of EEX Group, has successfully migrated its position and transaction management system for the derivatives markets to the C7 system developed by Deutsche Börse Group.
The successful migration completes the introduction of the new infrastructure for clients of the clearing house. Prior to this step, ECC migrated the management of its Clearing Members’ collateral to the C7 architecture in late 2017. This was followed by the payment transactions in mid-2018.

A survey conducted on preparation for the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime, (SM&CR) has revealed that most firms have significant work to do, as they prepare for its extension to all authorised firms on 9 December.
From a pool of over 70 respondents, including asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, broker-dealers and wealth managers, the findings were as follows:
• Less than 2 per cent of firms confirmed they had completed sufficient preparation for SM&CR
• In equal measure, only 2 per cent of employees had a sufficient awareness of the new rules and their implications across the organisation
• More than a quarter

Almost two-thirds (62 per cent) of hedge fund and private equity investors have, within the last year, begun to search social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram as part of the pre-investment background investigation process.
That’s according to a new investor and operational due diligence (ODD) analyst survey by Corgentum Consulting.
Searches were on both the social media activities of the fund management company and individual employees. Startup Covalent has launched crypto indexes allowing investors to purchase a diversified portfolio of crypto currencies using the Covalent Bot.
The company says this lowers the barrier to entry by reducing the need for investors to research hundreds of tokens in order to make an educated investment decision.
