Maitland, a global family office, administration and advisory firm, has appointed David Hathorn as Deputy Chairman with effect from 1 February 2019 as part of the firm’s ongoing succession planning.
Hathorn has been a non-executive Director of Maitland International Holdings plc and Chairman of its Audit and Risk Committee since May 2017.
Prior to his appointment to the Maitland Board, Hathorn was CEO for 17 years of FTSE 100 packaging and paper giant Mondi plc, which is dual listed in London and Johannesburg.

Malta-based digital asset exchange OKEx has launched Advance Limit Order Options for spot trading, margin trading, futures, and perpetual swap on OKEx.com, OKEx App, and API – Post Only, Fill or Kill, and Immediate or Cancel.
The exchange has also unveiled full-screen trading for perpetual swap on the website, offering a fully-immersive experience in digital asset trading.
Developed based on the trading mechanism of a traditional stock market, the new order options enable traders to trade digital assets at a desired or even better prices. The regular Limit Order is defaulted to Good Till Canceled.

Cobalt, a foreign exchange (FX) infrastructure based on shared ledger and high performance technology, has hired five experienced professionals to lead its drive to ‘re-engineer the FX market’.
Cobalt says that post-trade FX is currently riddled with complex legacy systems and manual processes, creating unnecessary cost and risk across the market. The new hires bring a wealth of FX experience to the company and will play an important role in the rollout of Cobalt’s shared infrastructure which aims to optimise risk management and cut costs by up to 80 per cent.

Experienced distressed investment specialists Amit Patel and Cindy Chen Delano, formerly of Whitebox Advisors, have launched Invictus, an alternative asset management firm built to employ a fundamental, event-driven approach to investing across distressed credit and related special situations opportunities.
Patel (pictured), who spent six-years with Whitebox, and Delano, three-years with the firm, will serve as the fCo-Chief Investment Officers of Invictus. In a three-day technical workshop, EEX has engaged with staff of Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange (CNEEEX) and other Chinese stakeholders, sharing its experience in the operation and supervision of an emissions trading platform.
The workshop was organised by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with CNEEEX. In addition to EEX, the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) joined the discussion and provided views from a legal and regulatory perspective.
