The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published a statement addressing EMIR Refit implementation.
The public statement addresses issues around the clearing and trading obligations for small financial counterparties and the backloading requirement for reporting entities, ahead of upcoming deadlines, which would represent challenges for the above mention entities in the context of the ongoing EMIR Refit negotiations.
ESMA is aware of challenges that certain small financial counterparties would face to prepare for the 21 June 2019 deadline to start CCP clearing and trading on trading venues some of their OTC derivative contracts.

The International Stock Exchange (TISE) has been approved as a Designated Offshore Securities Market (DOSM) by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The recognition from the federal regulator means that securities listed on TISE can be issued and resold in a more streamlined manner.

Hedge fund allocations from the fast-growing family office sector are set to increase during 2019, according to data released by Family Office Networks (FON).
According to the network of 10,000 global family offices with USD15 trillion in assets, the appetite for various hedge fund strategies is increasing, with more capital being allocated to traditional Long/Short, Global Macro and Managed Futures strategies as a hedge against recent volatility in the marketplace.
