Pacific Fund Systems (PFS) has released a new version of its web portal, PFS-CONNECT, which now enables existing investors, their agents and employees to place fund transaction orders online.   The online order types supported are subscriptions, redemptions and switch transactions.  James Eldershaw, Director at PFS, says: “This new online fund order placement capability significantly enhances the already extensive functionality available to PFS-PAXUS users who also use our web portal. Alternative assets under administration (AUA) stood at USD6.862 trillion at the end of 2014, compared to USD5.873 trillion at the end of 2013, according to eVestment’s Alternative Fund Administrator Survey 2015. For the report, eVestment surveyed administration firms serving hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and liquid alternatives funds. Total private equity and real estate funds AUA saw a big jump, up 23.7% year-over-year for a total in 2014 of USD1.580 trillion. CBOE Holdings is planning to launch options on the MSCI Emerging Markets and MSCI EAFE Indexes on Tuesday, 21 April. The ticker symbols will be MXEF and MXEA respectively. Under an agreement with MSCI, announced in December 2014, options on the MSCI Indexes will be listed for trading in the US solely on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the supervision of cross-border regulated firms. The agreement, which was signed by CFTC chairman Tim Massad and his APRA counterpart Wayne Byres, will see the two organisations cooperate and exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of regulated firms that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and in Australia.   Through the MOU, the CFTC and APRA are demonstrating willingness to cooperate in the interest of fulfilling their respective regulatory mandates.
