International shipping and energy bank DNB Bank Singapore has appointed Erik Gundersen Papp as its new Regional Head of Asia, Energy & Corporates at its Asian headquarters in Singapore.
He will be responsible for the bank’s clients in the energy sector as well as the growing number of Norwegian and Nordic clients in the region and to grow various business areas, such as Cash Management, on the corporate banking side.

IndexIQ, a developer of index-based alternative investment solutions, has reported positive performance for six out of seven of its proprietary family of hedge fund replication and alternative beta indices.
The IQ Hedge Global Macro Beta Index was the strongest performer in July, rising by 3.28 per cent.
This was followed by the IQ Hedge Event-Driven Beta Index, which was up 2.14 per cent.

Singapore Exchange says derivatives and commodities trading grew in July from a year earlier, while securities turnover was lower year-on-year though it was up from June.
Securities turnover fell nine per cent year-on-year to SGD26.5bn. Securities daily average value was 14 per cent down at SGD1.2bn. Compared with June, daily average value was up 19 per cent.
Catalist turnover increased 31 per cent year-on-year to SGD614m while ETF trading fell 58 per cent to SGD343m.
The securities borrowing and lending programme saw a 37 per cent growth year-on-year in daily average outstanding loans to SGD26.6m.

Drachman says: "The Credit Suisse Liquid Alternative Beta Index (CSLAB), which aims to reflect the performance of the overall hedge fund industry, finished up 0.96 per cent in July.

Northern Trust has hired Tony Glickman in a global client solutions role focusing on its hedge fund services, custody, banking and operations platform on behalf of asset managers and institutional investors worldwide.
Glickman (pictured) has more than 30 years of financial market-related experience as a banker, treasurer, hedge fund manager and, most recently, as head of risk services for GlobeOp Financial Services.
