Nikko Asset Management (Nikko AM) has appointed Aoifinn Devitt as Head of World Series Fund Platform to lead and manage the expansion of the company’s manager selection business from primarily Japan, to Europe and other parts of Asia. The World Series Fund Platform channels funds packaged under the Nikko AM brand which are currently sub-advised by more than 40 managers worldwide – including PIMCO, Wellington, JP Morgan Asset Management, Ashmore, Blue Bay and Franklin Templeton – and distributed to institutional, retail and high net worth investors across Asia. In two separate settlement agreements with BCSC staff, BC residents Malkeet Singh Bains and Narvinder Singh Patric Virk each admitted that he reasonably should have known that his actions led to a misleading appearance of trading activity in or an artificial price for Sungro Minerals Inc shares. The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced charges against a New York-based fund manager and his two firms for luring investors into a trading program that would purportedly maximise their profits but instead spent their money in unauthorised ways.
