Cara brings considerable institutional hedge fund experience to Agecroft Partners. The Dow Jones Credit Suisse Hedge Fund Index finished down 0.04% for the month of April. Four of the broad index’s 10 sub-strategies recorded positive returns – Fixed Income Arbitrage (0.69%), Multi-Startegy (0.58%), Managed Futures (0.43%) and Emerging Markets (0.15%) – while Dedicated Short Bias was the worst performing sub-strategy at −2.53%. There have not been any funds dropped from the Dow Jones Credit Suisse Hedge Fund Index in April. Fiona Le Poidevin, the current Deputy Chief Executive of Guernsey Finance, will take over as Chief Executive from Peter Niven with effect from 30 June. Niven has been with Guernsey Finance since 2006 and will continue to act in a part time consultancy role with the company until the end of 2012. Harcourt, a subsidiary of Vontobel Asset Management, has appointed Jan Viebig and Georg Wessling to further expand and strengthen its expertise in alternative investments.   Viebig takes up the position of Head of Alternative Investments. Wessling will act as Deputy Head of Alternative Investments.   Viebig replaces the former CEO of Harcourt, Stephan Fritz, who has decided to leave Vontobel Asset Management. Viebig has over 12 years of investment experience in alternative investments and emerging markets. He joins Harcourt from Credit Suisse, where he currently is Head of Emerging Market Equities. NYSE Euronext (NYX) and the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote a bilateral partnership to support the development of the exchanges futures and options markets. The agreement was designed to explore opportunities for extending the global reach of both exchanges.
