Krishna Kumar, Ade Odunsi and Treesdale Partners have formed Goose Hollow Capital Advisors to run two FX investment strategies, FX Global Income Access and Commodity Producers Currency Access.
Kumar and Odunsi are veterans of the FX business with a combined 28 years of experience in the FX business. Treesdale Partners is a SEC registered RIA founded in 2002 that manages approximately USD300 million in a number of fixed income focused alternative investment vehicles, for a global clientele including insurance companies, endowments, pensions, banks and wealth managers.

Gregory McGreevey is to join Invesco as head of Invesco Fixed Income on 28 November, 2011. Based in Atlanta. he will assume responsibility for the day-to-day business oversight of Invesco’s fixed income business, and willreport to Karen Dunn Kelley, senior managing director.
“I‘m pleased that Greg McGreevey, a respected industry veteran with 25 years’ investment and leadership experience, is joining Invesco,” says Kelley. “With his broad knowledge of the industry and strong investment background, McGreevey is uniquely qualified to continue taking Invesco’s fixed income business forward.”

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a complaint in federal court in Santa Ana, California, charging defendants Robert J Cannone of Laguna Niguel, Thomas B Breen of San Juan Capistrano, Francis Franco of Anaheim, and their company National Equity Holdings, Inc. of Laguna Niguel, with fraudulently operating a USD1.4 million commodity futures pool and with registration violations.

Patrician Asset Management has launched the Citizen Entertainment Fund to focus on debt investments in media companies. CEF’s first investor is a major European public company.
The fund is a low volatility, non-correlated debt fund and is managed by Film industry veteran’s David Forbes and Brian Gilmore. CEF will focus on providing loans for print and advertising, production, completion, and the broader media space, designed to generate investor returns of 16% or more after fees.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has filed an emergency enforcement action to stop a fraudulent scheme targeting investors seeking coveted stock in Internet and technology companies like Facebook and Groupon in advance of a public offering.
The SEC alleges that Florida resident John A Mattera and several other individuals carried out the scam using a newly-minted hedge fund named The Praetorian Global Fund. They falsely claimed that the fund and affiliated Praetorian entities owned shares worth tens of millions of dollars in privately-held companies that were expected to soon hold an initial public offering (IPO) including Facebook, Groupon, and others.

(“MF Global”) for possible violations of the Commodity Exchange Act (“CEA”) and/or Commission regulations. I fully support the Commission’s efforts to conduct a thorough investigation to determine what happened with the customer funds, how we can return all customer funds as soon as possible, and punish any wrongdoing.

Forward Management has launched the Forward Global Credit Long/Short Fund offering a (hedge-style) long/short strategy focused on the corporate debt sector. The new fund complements the long-only Forward EM Corporate Debt Fund (FFXRX) introduced in May, 2011.
