European Multilateral Clearing Facility NV (EMCF) has appointed Hugh Brown as Director of UK Markets. In this newly created position, Brown will be EMCF’s representative in London, managing the relationships with UK-based platforms and clients, liaising with regulators and industry bodies and helping to develop EMCF’s strategy and positioning on industry issues.
Brown joins EMCF following 17 years with the London Stock Exchange Group, where his roles have included managing trading, post trading and regulatory strategy.

Lionel Paquin has been appointed as Managing Director – Head of the Managed Account Platform at Lyxor Asset Management.
Paquin, who has been working within the Société Générale Group since 2004 and is a member of the Lyxor Management Committee and Executive Committee, replaces Stéphane Enguehard, who has been promoted to Managing Director – Head of Funds of Hedge Funds Development for Lyxor.
Enguehard’s new role will consist of promoting the company’s Funds of Hedge Funds range towards a broader audience of key investors around the globe.

Global hedge fund investors allocated over USD1.4 billion in net new capital to Asian hedge funds in Q3 2011 as global financial markets responded to developments in the European sovereign debt crisis and weakening economic growth prospects across developed economies, according to the latest edition of the Asian Hedge Fund Industry Report by HFR.

Eurex Clearing has successfully wound down its clearing member MF Global UK Limited (MF Global). MF Global entered Special Administration Regime on Monday evening, 31 October 2011, as confirmed by the responsible UK regulatory body, the Financial Services Authority (FSA). According to its clearing conditions, Eurex Clearing terminated the clearing agreement with MF Global on 1 November 2011.
