Alternative asset management firm Equinox Fund Management has appointed David P DeMuth, to the Executive Committee of The Frontier Fund, its public managed futures fund.
The Frontier Fund is a family of funds available to retail investors, which carries a low minimum investment requirement (USD1,000 in most states) and features daily liquidity.
DeMuth replaces Ajay Dravid, PhD, who served on the Executive Committee from March 2009 through December 2010 and was recently named Director of Risk Management at Solon Capital, LLC, an affiliate of Equinox.

The FrontPoint-SJC Direct Lending Fund (FSJC) has held its final close with total commitments of more than USD1 billion.
The fund’s strategy focuses on providing privately negotiated senior secured loans to US middle market companies that generate annual revenue of USD75-USD500 million and annual EBITDA of USD7.5-USD50 million. To date, the Fund has invested approximately USD165 million.

Guernsey law firm Collas Day has seen in the New Year with three senior appointments across the firm.
Paul Wilkes, a former Senior Associate within the Commercial department who joined the firm in 2007 from another law firm in Guernsey, having previously worked at Mallesons Stephen Jacques in Australia, has been appointed as a Group Partner from the start of January. The focus of his practice is investment funds and banking. He regularly speaks on company law and regulatory matters locally and in London.

Paris-based M&A investment manager, Bernheim, Dreyfus, has reported continuing strong performance for its flagship Diva Synergy Enhanced Fund through 2010. In the 12 month period, the Fund’s dollar class gained 27.35% net and the euro class 27.91%.
Diva Synergy’s strong performance reflects, to some extent, a growth in mergers and acquisitions globally. According to Bernheim, Dreyfus’s January research letter: “The value of worldwide M&A totalled USD2.4 trillion during the full year 2010, a 23% increase from comparable 2009 levels and the strongest full year period for M&A since 2008".
