Warburg Invest AG and Alpha Centauri have partnered to launch the Climate Smart Europe Long/Short Equity fund, which employs a largely market-neutral investment strategy in approximately 60 European equities and aims to benefit from a transition into a more climate-neutral world. The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator for October 2022 measured 2.35%, down from September’s figure of 2.67%. The Indicator represents the sum of forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by SS&C GlobeOp on the SS&C GlobeOp platform, divided by the AuA at the beginning of the month for SS&C GlobeOp fund administration clients on the SS&C GlobeOp platform. “SS&C GlobeOp’s Forward Redemption Indicator for October 2022 was 2.35%. Philip Morris International (PMI) has tabled an improved “best and final” offer to acquire smokeless tobacco specialist Swedish Match AB, after investors including activist hedge fund Elliot Management indicated they were unhappy with the original proposal, according to a report by Euronews. Billionaire investor Daniel Oct has been accused of “mismanagement” as his hedge fund firm, then known as Och-Ziff, “deteriorated” forcing his successors to spend years stabilising the Wall Street firm, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites court filings as revealing that lawyers allege that Och’s handling of a 2016 African bribery scandal involving the firm, which subsequently rebranded as Sculptor Capital Management Inc, damaged its business and balance sheet. A group of hedge funds have told a UK judge that Argentina had a “propensity” to manipulate economic data to save billions of dollars. The accusation came as part of court case linked to payments the four funds are due on instruments linked to Argentina’s GDP, according to a report by Reuters Palladian Partners, HBK Master Fund, Hirsh Group and Virtual Emerald International Limited, first filed their suit in 2019, claiming Argentina owed payments linked to euro-denominated securities linked fating back to 2013.
