The Aaro DLT Multifund achieved an annual return of 177.2 per cent in 2021, outperforming the wider crypto market (MVIS 100) by 42.8 per cent and bitcoin by 117.7 per cent. The fund’s Sharpe Ratio of 2.6 was also superior to that of the MVIS 100 index (1.8) and Bitcoin (0.8). The Aaro DLT Multifund, launched in May 2020, is one of the first fund of funds seeking to exploit investment opportunities in DLT/blockchain-related technologies and cryptoassets. The aim of the fund is to deliver sustainable growth and risk-adjusted returns while protecting against the markets’ short-term volatility. Over half of new ESG jobs at hedge funds over the past two years have been filled by women, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites a study by HFObserver, an online employment data platform focused on the alternative asset management industry, as the source of the information, with the 50 per cent figure said to be far in excess of the overall rate of female appointments in the hedge fund sector. Globally, women accounted for 49.6 per cent of all ESG roles, compared with 29 per cent for overall hedge fund appointments in general.
The Intraday market has been the main growth driver on the European Power Spot market during March, contributing 10.7 TWh to the total volume of 52.0 TWh during the last month, according to the European Energy Exchange (EEX). The development of the European Power Derivatives market (352.8 TWh) was driven by the growth of the French Power Futures (+56 per cent), the Belgian Power Futures (+505 per cent) and the Nordic Power Futures (+108 per cent). A successful short bet on government bonds helped Crispin Odey’s flagship hedge fund to a 15 per cent gain in March, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report says that a recent investor update issued by the company reveals that the fund, Odey European Inc, is now up 53 per cent so far in 2022. Derivatives market place CME Group achieved quarterly international average daily volume (ADV) of 7.3 million contracts in Q1 2022, up 18 per cent year on year.
