Experienced investment fund lawyer James Bermingham has joined Ogier’s Luxembourg team as counsel.
Bermingham (pictured), who has experience in City and offshore law firms and as a General Counsel of a global asset manager and private equity administration group, is admitted in England and Wales and is registered on List IV in Luxembourg.
He joins the growing Ogier team in Luxembourg led by practice partner Francois Pfister – the firm marks its fifth anniversary this year, with six partners qualified in Luxembourg law, and over 35 staff in total.
Pfister says: “James’ broad experience and specific expertise in regulatory matters and funds makes him a strong addition to our growing team – in addition, his experience within the Luxembourg legal market going back over the last decade means that he has an in-depth understanding of the issues affecting alternative investment funds and their managers.
“We are pleased to welcome him to the team as we continue to develop our offering and particularly our successful investment funds and other practices.”
Bermingham practised in London and Jersey before moving to Luxembourg.
His experience covers all areas of advice relating to the structuring, formation, regulation, operation and tax issues affecting all types of regulated and unregulated alternative investment vehicles.
