Omni Partners has hired Rajesh Shanmuganathan as Marketing and Investor Relations Manager. Shanmuganathan will be based in Omni’s London office.

He will be working with the existing marketing and investor relations team, which has grown from one to six people over the past three years. Rajesh’s main focus will be the Omni Event Fund (YTD performance +15% through 30 June 2015).

Rajesh has more than 12 years of experience in the alternatives investment industry within Europe and Asia. After graduating in Management Sciences he joined FRM (now a division of Man Group), where he became Vice President on the Sales and Marketing team in London. Rajesh left FRM after six years to join DKR Oasis Management LP in Hong Kong, where he was Head of Investor Relations for four years. Rajesh then returned to London to join LBV Asset Management LLP as a Director focussed on business development and investor relations.

The Omni Event Fund follows an actively managed global event-driven strategy with a focus on equity and equity related securities of companies undergoing significant corporate actions and other hard catalyst events. The fund’s mandate is event-driven in the truest sense, and Omni Event invests predominantly in announced transactions. The investment team strives to enter the best risk/reward trades without being constrained by pre-defined geographic or industry exposure requirements.

Omni’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Coates (pictured), says: “It has been an outstanding year for Omni Event Fund as record valuations and pent-up activity continue to drive M&A and other corporate activity on a global scale. As investor interest in the Omni Event strategy has accelerated, we have decided to further enhance our marketing and investor relations capabilities. Rajesh’s extensive experience in marketing, investor relations and business development will help the team to work further with investors and prospects globally.”
