John Zwaanstra, a former Soros Fund Management LLC trader, plans to return outside capital in Penta Investment Advisers, an Asia-focused hedge fund he established in 1998, reported Bloomberg this week citing people with knowledge of the matter. Penta managed upwards of USD2.9billion in Mid-2011, about 40 per cent of which comes from Penta’s principals. However, its assets have fallen below USD2billion according to one of the sources. Zwaanstra established Penta after working for Soros Fund Management for three years.
