State Street Corporation has appointed Vincent Georgel-O’Reilly as regional segment head for alternatives in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In this new role, O’Reilly covers hedge funds and private markets and is responsible for advancing the investment services strategic direction, product structuring, sales and operations in EMEA. He reports to Paul Fleming, global head of alternatives and Joerg Ambrosius, chief executive officer of EMEA.

Two Sigma has appointed Tom Hill to the newly created role of Chairman of Two Sigma’s private investment business, which includes Two Sigma Impact, Two Sigma Ventures and Sightway Capital.
Muzinich & Co has added Andrew Higginson, Edward Yu and Marcus VanBerkel have joined the firm’s business development team. All three will be based in New York.

Blackstone has announced that Scott Bommer has joined the firm as the Chief Investment Officer of the new Blackstone Horizon platform, an initiative being launched by Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM).
Blackstone Horizon is a new investment business that targets strong absolute returns by investing in and forming strategic partnerships with high-performing investment managers. The platform will employ a thematic approach to capitalise on powerful secular growth trends globally.
Bommer will also work closely with BAAM senior management on asset allocation, risk-management, stakes/seeding investing and other strategic initiatives.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers has hired ex-Sandell Asset Management event driven specialist Raj Davé to run a new fund within its hedge fund and alternative investment unit, 1798 Alternatives, focusing on special situations and event driven opportunities.
In his new role Davé, who reports to Christophe Khaw, CIO of LIOM’s 1798 Alternatives, will trade opportunities across the capital structure, and aim to generate returns with low correlation to traditional equity and fixed income markets.

Family office-backed alternative asset manager Trium Capital has hired experienced macro strategy specialist Joe Rouncefield.
Rouncefield joins Trium from emerging market-focused hedge fund Spinnaker Capital and brings extensive experience working with a wide range of institutional investors in offshore and UCITS macro strategies.
Rouncefield previously spent almost a decade at Hugh Hendry’s Eclectica Asset Management where he covered both the flagship Eclectica macro hedge fund and the firm’s UCITS strategies.
In his new role, Rouncefield will work closely with former Eclectica colleague Tom Roderick, who has been managing a UCITS compliant discretionary global macro portfolio for Trium since 2018.
