Sanlam’s Strategic Bond Fund is moving to its boutique investment manager Sanlam FOUR. Craig Veysey (pictured), the manager of the Sanlam Strategic Bond Fund and current head of fixed income at Sanlam Private Wealth, will move over to Sanlam FOUR, joining the GBP4.3 billion boutique’s current group of fund managers.   Veysey, who has more than 17 years of investment experience, has managed the Sanlam Strategic Bond Fund since its launch in March 2012. Prior to this, he managed global bond funds and other bond portfolios at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, WestLB Mellon Asset Management and HSBC Investment Management.  
Law firm Dechert has expanded its financial services practice in Hong Kong with the addition of Michael P Wong. Wong (pictured) joins the firm as a partner and was most recently at K&L Gates.   “We are very pleased to welcome Michael to Dechert,” says Peter Astleford, co-chair of the firm’s financial services group. “Michael has already established a noteworthy and growing practice at his previous firm for global and PRC clients. Trading Technologies (TT) has appointed Michael Kraines as chief financial officer (CFO). Kraines will be responsible for finance, planning, strategy and business development.   Prior to joining TT, Kraines spent 25 years as an investment banker in the financial technology sector, executing over USD35 billion of market structure sector transactions.   Kraines joins TT from Sandler O’Neill + Partners, where as a managing director he led the financial technology effort and advised on transactions across every aspect of the market structure sector since 2004. Garry Jones, the London Metal Exchanges’ (LME) chief executive and an executive director of the LME and LME Clear (LMEC), is retiring from all his positions within the HKEX Group, including at the LME and LMEC, with immediate effect. Jones (pictured) has agreed to serve as an adviser to the LME until the end of the year.   Matthew Chamberlain, the LME’s chief operating officer (COO), has been appointed interim chief executive of the LME with immediate effect. Andrew Dodsworth, the LME’s head of market operations, has been appointed Interim COO with immediate effect.   Chamberlain joined the LME in November
Capita Asset Services has appointed Andrea Lennon as head of business development of its Irish funds business. Lennon (pictured) joins Capita Asset Services from BNY Mellon, where she spent the last eight years working in both relationship and business development roles. Lennon was responsible for the oversight and management of large complex corporate and institutional clients and had responsibility to generate revenue by marketing the full array of investment and asset services to complex mutual fund managers.   As head of business development, Lennon will focus on continuing to grow the funds business in Ireland which incorporates both a fund administration business
Commissioner J Christopher Giancarlo has been named as acting chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Giancarlo (pictured) joined the CFTC on 16 June 2014 after being unanimously confirmed by the US Senate on 3 June 2014, to serve as a commissioner of the CFTC, the federal agency that oversees the commodity futures, options and swaps industry.   Giancarlo succeeds Timothy Massad who has served as chairman since 5 June 2014.
Alternative investment manager Investcorp has appointed Nelson Ramos as co-portfolio manager of its alternative risk premia portfolios, deputy head of cross asset investments, and a member of the cross asset and investment committees. Ramos will focus on the management of the alternative risk premia portfolios and be actively involved in the different stages of the investment process, including cross asset research, factor research and development, and portfolio construction.   Ramos, an 18-year industry veteran, joins Investcorp from the California Public Employees Retirement Systems (CalPERS), where he managed the quantitative research team that developed and supported the global equity and risk
US Commodity Futures Trading Commission division of enforcement director Aitan Goelman will leave the agency on 3 February 2017. During Goelman’s tenure, the division brought a number of first-in-kind cases using the new enforcement authorities created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.   The division also imposed and collected a record amount of monetary sanctions as it fulfilled its mission of protecting investors from being victimised by fraud and manipulation, and safeguarding the integrity of the financial markets overseen by the commission.    CFTC chairman Timothy Massad (pictured) says: “During my confirmation hearing, I pledged that
