SALI Fund Services appoints Jonas Katz as MD and CMO

SALI Fund Services has appointed Jonas Katz as managing director and chief marketing officer.

Katz (pictured) will be responsible for expanding the firm’s relationships with investment managers and life insurance companies as SALI looks to expand its insurance‐dedicated fund (IDF) business.
 
This is SALI’s third key hire in 2016 following the appointments of director of due diligence Kris Studebaker and general counsel Chi Chang.
 
Katz joins SALI with more than 15 years of hedge fund and IDF industry experience. He most recently served as a principal with Forester Capital, a multi‐billion dollar fund of hedge funds in Greenwich, Connecticut, leading the development and marketing of the firm’s IDF.
 
Previously, he served as Forester’s chief operating officer and general counsel.
 
Jonas began his career as an associate in the investment management practice of Seward & Kissel in New York City, where he specialised in the formation and representation of US and offshore hedge funds, funds of funds, and investment advisers.
 
Tom Nieman, SALI’s managing principal, says: “We are excited to have Jonas join our executive team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as chief marketing officer, and he will help SALI continue to pursue its mission of making it easy and inexpensive for investment management firms to participate in the rapidly growing IDF market.”
