Sanne has appointed Sean Murray as its new head of fund services for the EMEA region.

Based in Sanne’s Luxembourg office, Murray will take responsibility for the development of the company’s fund services offering, working with all of the Alternative Asset product area divisions in which Sanne specialise. Murray has joined the firm from Orangefield in Luxembourg, where he was managing director and a member of the global alternative investments management board. He also sat on the board and management team of Vistra Luxembourg after Orangefield began a merger with Vistra Group in June 2016.

Martin Schnaier, Sanne’s managing director of Alternative Assets in EMEA, says: ‘Sean’s unique skills set, valuable industry experience and leadership will be a huge advantage for our growing business. He has a long track record of developing and expanding offices and has an impressive depth of knowledge within our industry.

‘Sean is an expert in multiple asset classes, including real estate, debt (private debt and structured finance), private equity and hedge funds. His appointment will help Sanne further enhance the services we provide, which will make a positive difference to our clients.’

During his time at Orangefield, Sean created the fund services offering in Luxembourg after successfully securing a licence to service regulated funds business, whilst also rolling this capability out to other locations. He was involved in successful acquisitions of other fund administrators, including in the US and Channel Islands, to establish an Orangefield presence in these locations.

Murray has previously held senior positions at Northern Trust in Luxembourg as the head of fund accounting and also at Northern Trust in Guernsey as a fund accounting manager. Murray is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds an advanced certificate in business studies (accounting).
