A new report entitled ‘Alternative Investments 3.0 – digitize or jeopardize’ from KPMG International and CREATE-Research finds that digital technologies are radically reshaping the alternative investment industry, but a large majority of hedge funds and private equity firms appear to be too slow to respond.
The report was based on a global survey of 125 hedge funds and private equity firms and conducted by KPMG International and CREATE-Research.
While 98 per cent of respondents say ‘business as usual’ is not an option, at least three out of five respondents said they are still at the nascent stage of ‘awareness raising’

The European Energy Exchange (EEX), Saxo Bank and PZEM Energy have partnered to offer German Power CFDs (Contracts for Differences) on Saxo’s fully integrated trading and risk management platform, SaxoTraderGO.
Saxo’s new German Power CFD will be linked exclusively to prices established in EEX’s Phelix-DE orderbook and will cover both Phelix-DE Base and Peak Futures with monthly, quarterly and yearly expiries.

The service uses daily updates and historical data to provide end-of-day analytics and reference data for US and international exchange-listed options on equities, exchange traded funds (ETFs), equity indexes, and futures.
The service includes daily calculations of nine End of Day Options Sensitivities (Greeks – Delta, Gamma, Vega, Theta, Rho, Vanna, Volga, Speed, Lambda) and five End of Day Implied Volatilities and Interpolated Volatility Surfaces. It also provides Historical Volatilities time series for periods from 10 to 180 days.

The European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT and the clearing house European Commodity Clearing (ECC) have reduced the lead-time to five minutes before delivery for local Austrian and French contracts, and to 30 minutes before delivery for local Swiss contracts.
The lead-time reduction from previously 30 minutes for Austria and France, and from 60 minutes for Switzerland, was implemented on 31 January on the respective continuous markets. The lead-time for cross-border trades remains unchanged at 60 minutes.
