CloudAlpha Capital Management, a start-up hedge fund, has chosen Linedata’s flagship hedge fund solution, Global Hedge, as its portfolio management technology solution.
Global Hedge is designed to allow clients to have total control of their portfolios and transactions, from the front office straight through to the back office.
CloudAlpha will focus on the US Technology markets in a long/short capacity. Set up last year, CloudAlpha is using Linedata Global Hedge Portfolio Management System in a fully hosted environment, which has enabled the start up to launch quickly and avoid any unnecessary technology and resource overhead costs.

The Depository Trust & Clearing (DTCC) is linking its front-end collateral management system Omgeo ProtoColl with GlobalCollateral’s Margin Transit Utility (MTU), a straight through processing solution for the settlement of margin obligations.

Social media is joining traditional financial news media as a key source of information used by institutional investors in their investment processes, according to a new study from Greenwich Associates.
The study found that 80 per cent of institutional investors use social media as part of their regular work flow, and approximately 30 per cent of these investors say information obtained through social media has directly influenced an investment recommendation or decision.

Pacific Fund Systems (PFS) has released a new version of its web portal, PFS-CONNECT, which now enables existing investors, their agents and employees to place fund transaction orders online.
The online order types supported are subscriptions, redemptions and switch transactions.
James Eldershaw, Director at PFS, says: “This new online fund order placement capability significantly enhances the already extensive functionality available to PFS-PAXUS users who also use our web portal.
