Nomura Research Institute has added new functionality to the I-STAR securities back-office solution for wholesale brokerage firms.
This additional component enables I-STAR users to manage the average price1 in margin and derivative trading, providing users with the ability to become fully compliant with regulations planned to take effect in Japan on 16 March, 2015.
I-STAR provides a wide range of functionalities required for the back-office operations of the securities business, such as execution entry to settlement processes, accounting, and generation of regulatory reports. The Board of Trustees of the JPMorgan Money Market Funds has approved the firm's preliminary recommendation regarding the intended designation of its publicly offered money market funds as "Institutional," "Retail" or "Government," in accordance with the criteria established by the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") in July 2014.
These determinations were reflected in a supplement to the money market funds' registration statements filed last week.
In the supplement, the Board also stated that it has no current intention of instituting liquidity fees or gates on the money market funds (MMFs) designated as Government MMFs.

Gabelli Funds has completed the offering of a London Stock Exchange listed closed-end fund, The Gabelli Value Plus+ Trust (GVP), the firm’s first direct entry to the UK investment community.

Capricorn Fund Managers, a Johannesburg and London based hedge fund manager, has selected Viteos for a complete middle office services solution on a co-sourcing model.
Capricorn had earlier outsourced its Fund Administration and Middle Office services to BNY Mellon Investment Servicing (International) Limited (BONY). As part of a periodic strategic review, Capricorn initiated an RFP and selection process, separating its middle office provider and fund administrator.
Capricorn looked for its Middle Office provider to:
