The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has approved the application of 360 Trading Networks (360T) for temporary registration as a swap execution facility (SEF).
360T is a Delaware limited liability company and is wholly-owned by 360 Treasury Systems AG, a German joint stock company.
A SEF is a category of CFTC registered entities created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 to provide greater pre-trade and post-trade transparency to the swaps market.
360T will be required, as will all future temporarily and fully registered SEFs, to demonstrate continued compliance with all
FIX Trading Community, the non-profit, industry-driven standards body for global financial trading, has formed a Global Post-Trade Working Group.
The new group will bring together the existing Americas Buy-side Post-Trade Working Group with the EMEA Post-Trade Working Group, in addition to welcoming participation from members based across the Asian and Japanese markets, providing a forum where the business and regulatory challenges impacting the post-trade environment can be effectively addressed through the use of standards.

BGC Partners’ subsidiary BGC Derivative Markets has received temporary registration approval from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to operate a swap execution facility (SEF).
BGC intends to offer trading of regulated swaps from 2 October onwards, consistent with the derivatives trading regulations under the Dodd-Frank Act.

Advent Software has released the results of a survey on how investors select hedge funds titled, “Pitch Perfect, How Investors Choose Funds.”
The survey was designed to determine not only what investors look for when making new hedge fund investments, but also the potential stumbling blocks fund managers should take pains to avoid when making their pitch.
The overall findings from Advent’s investor survey determined that, in a competitive market, hedge funds are in need of a compelling, strategic edge to help acquire and retain clients.

This undertaking is part of an overall effort to standardise and centralise key client reference data functions and place them under user governance.
Omgeo ALERT, a web-based database for the maintenance and communication of SSIs, will serve as the foundation for this service. ALERT will be the industry-wide SSI repository and communication hub, coordinating and distributing SSIs between trade counterparties and supporting settlement across all markets and asset classes globally.
