Omgeo is supporting the global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) initiative by adding additional entity- and fund-level fields and data into Omgeo ALERT, the company’s web-based global database for standing settlement instructions (SSI).
These enhancements are bolstered by Omgeo’s partnership with Avox, a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) that provides the automated feed that populates legal entity data in ALERT.
With this partnership, entity-level CFTC Interim Compliant Identifiers (CICIs) — which conform to the LEI standard and will transition to LEIs once the global LEI system is established — are automatically populated within confirmed investment
SEI has been selected by Duet Alternative Investments (USA) Ltd, a subsidiary of Duet Group, to provide operational outsourcing services for the firm’s emerging macro hedge funds.
SEI will provide Duet (USA) with a suite of operational outsourcing services in a straight-through-processing environment.
Duet (USA) will use SEI’s online Manager Dashboard reporting platform to help better manage the firm’s funds through flexible, transparent, and aggregated views of its data. The firm will also use SEI’s Investor Dashboard, an investor-focused reporting platform that facilitates greater communication and transparency with end investors.

Euroclear and The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a joint collateral processing service which will significantly increase efficiency, reduce risk and support the growing collateral needs of industry participants.
Initially, the joint services will offer automatic transfer and segregation of collateral based on agreed margin calls relating to over-the-counter derivatives and other collateralised contracts. This will significantly reduce settlement risk, increase transparency around collateral processing on a global basis and will provide maximum asset protection for all participants. Risk managers are at times advising portfolio managers to take more risk, which – especially in the aftermath of large market events and subsequent de-risking – marks a milestone in the hedge fund industry’s move toward the integration of risk and return management.

A collateral management service developed for customers of both Clearstream and BNP Paribas Securities Services has now launched across multiple markets and for both fixed income and equities.
The live service enables mutual customers to use Clearstream’s global collateral allocation, optimisation and exposure coverage while BNP Paribas Securities Services remains the local custodian, managing local settlement and asset servicing for its clients.
The assets used for triparty purposes are moved automatically into a Clearstream account in BNP Paribas Securities Services books, avoiding current manual cross-border processes for the clients. The first trade to go live in this cooperation involved
April trading volume for options contracts on Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and C2 Options Exchange (C2SM) and futures contracts on CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) totalled 102.70 million contracts.
Average daily volume (ADV) in April was 4.67 million contracts, up four per cent from 4.49 million contracts in March 2013 and up one per cent from 4.63 million contracts in April 2012.
Also in April, futures on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX Index), traded on CFE, posted their busiest month ever, and C2 set all-time monthly total volume, average daily volume and market share records.

Paladyne Systems has secured the rights to the source code, development rights and unlimited distribution rights for the Numerix Portfolio Risk product.
Paladyne has hired the Toronto- and Hong Kong-based development teams that built and support the product. This represents a major enhancement to the Paladyne investment management platform and to Broadridge’s global brokerage offering.
Paladyne has completed the integration of Numerix Portfolio Risk into its front-office solutions. OMS, portfolio accounting, risk management and hosting are now provided in a single platform.

SmartStream Technologies’ TLM Trade Process Management solution, which addresses the post-trade allocation, confirmation, clearing and settlement processes, now fully supports SWIFT’s Global Electronic Trade Communication (GETC) solution.
GETC uses well established SWIFT ISO 15022 messages to provide a standardised process for matching fixed income and equities trades for both buy and sell-side firms.
The post-trade world still has a large amount of manual processing and GETC enables participants to reuse their existing SWIFT infrastructure to create a standardised and automated approach to confirmation matching. GETC minimises operational risk, increases STP and significantly reduces the costs of post-trade processing.
