The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator for August 2015 measured 3.46 per cent, up from 2.08 per cent in July.
“SS&C GlobeOp’s Forward Redemption Indicator of 3.46 per cent for August 2015 reflects mainly seasonal influences in comparison to the 2.08 per cent reported in July of 2015,” says Bill Stone (pictured), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. “It’s noteworthy that on a year-over-year basis, the 3.46 per cent for August of 2015 is sharply lower than August of 2014 which came in at 4.19 per cent. In particular, there was a decline in near-term redemptions, which together with other recent SS&C GlobeOp index results, suggests that hedge funds are benefiting from the recent elevated market volatility.”
The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator represents the sum of forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by SS&C GlobeOp on the SS&C GlobeOp platform, divided by the AuA at the beginning of the month for SS&C GlobeOp fund administration clients on the SS&C GlobeOp platform. Forward redemptions as a percentage of SS&C GlobeOp's assets under administration on the SS&C GlobeOp platform have trended significantly lower since reaching a high of 19.27 per cent in November 2008. The next publication date is 22 September, 2015.
