Berlin-based Swarm Markets, a regulated decentralised financial infrastructure provider, is to launch a peer-to-peer contract for high value transactions in Q1 2022. 

The so-called dOTC service empowers institutions and professional investors to use the first regulated crypto block-trade smart contract in place of traditional over-the-counter (OTC) trading. 

High volume swap activity has increased significantly in the past year. According to a report by Messari Hub, the number of unique traders executing trades over USD500 thousand has increased by 140 per cent from March to September, 2021. However, to date, there is no block-trade P2P smart contract available to institutions that removes counterparty risks.
