Ultimus Fund Solutions has expanded its fund administration team with the appointment of former Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and fund company attorney Bo Howel.
Howell will join industry veterans Wade Bridge and Tina Bloom at the firm as a vice president, director of fund administration.
Howell’s experience includes an extended stay with the SEC’s division of investment management where he served first as a staff attorney in the office of enforcement liaison, before becoming a senior attorney in the office of disclosure and review.
Most recently he served as counsel – securities and mutual funds at Western & Southern Financial Group where he served in a senior role at the Touchstone mutual fund complex.
“Investment managers today face more regulatory and operational challenges than at any point in history and the depth of our fund administration team reflects that changing dynamic,” says Mark Seger, co-founder and managing director at Ultimus. “We’re committed to maintaining the level of expertise and resources necessary to help our clients stay ahead of the regulatory curve and adding top talent like Bo Howell only reinforces that. His experience complements the talents of other key team members extremely well and helps position Ultimus and our clients for success going forward.”
"Having worked for both the SEC and a large mutual fund complex I believe I can bring a unique perspective to our clients’ legal and compliance requirements and operational challenges,” says Howell. “I’m excited to work alongside the seasoned experts at Ultimus to help deliver value for our current mutual fund clients while looking for new opportunities to expand our reach in the registered product space and into the private fund space as well.”
