Vela appoints CTO

Vela, a provider of trading and market access technology for global multi-asset electronic trading, has appointed Scott Visconti as CTO, focusing on technology strategy, supporting growth, and the next stage of development of Vela’s product stack, services, and processes.

Visconti (pictured), will be based in Vela’s headquarters in New York, reporting to CEO Jennifer Nayar. He will lead the global development team and work alongside the executive team to cement the firm’s position as an innovative and transformational leader.

He is a well-known and respected technologist in our industry and brings deep knowledge and expertise in areas including trading technology, risk management, and data analytics. We look forward to working with Scott and are excited about the contributions he will bring to Vela.”

Prior to Vela, Visconti co-founded MarketOpen, a startup data analytics platform providing ongoing trading surveillance in stocks, exchange-traded funds, equity options, futures and crypto assets for investor relations and market professionals. During his tenure at ICE/NYSE, he was Vice President and Head of NYSE Group Technology, where he managed Development, Quality Assurance, Project Management Office, Capacity Management and IT Compliance functions. Visconti has also held senior roles at firms including BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse and S&P Comstock. Visconti holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Manhattan College.
