The planned threshold is being set high to limit participation to HNWIs and institutional investors.


Economy Secretary David Vegara said the regulations, which provide the details to a 2003 law, aim to make it easier to provide services and to reinforce protection for investors.


Vegara said that that the regulations were in their final stages of preparation and added the government is planning to relax demands for high-risk funds to draw up monthly reports with the possibility that it may also eliminate the requirement.
