Hudson Bay Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund firm with around $20 billion in assets, has become the latest manager to open an office in Dubai following the likes of Millennium Management, Balyasny Asset Management and ExodusPoint Capital Management, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites an unnamed source as revealing that Hudson Bay, which was founded by former American Stock Exchange options market maker Sander Gerber in 2005, has hired Chiara Chabanne as senior executive officer and its first portfolio manager in the region. Joining from Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, she will be supported by another Schonfeld alumni, Antoine Chabanne.

As well as Schonfeld, Chiara Chabanne has also worked at Moore Europe Capital Management and JPMorgan Securities, according to LinkedIn.

Hudson Bay’s new Dubai office joins the firm’s existing network of operations in New York, London and Miami.
