Law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld (Akin) has rehired Ira Kustin, who has experience with both hedge funds and credit funds, as a Partner in its investment management practice in its New York office as part of its expansion into the hedge fund industry.
Kustin’s practice focuses on the formation and operation of a wide spectrum of private investment fund vehicles and accounts (including hedge, private equity and credit funds), advising global asset managers, start-ups and mid-size managers. He also advises investment fund managers on securities law and Advisers Act compliance issues, complex fund restructurings, adviser ‘upper tier’ arrangements/succession planning and fund-related conflict resolution.
Kustin has rejoined Akin from global law firm Paul Hastings, where he was also a Partner. He is the latest hire in Akin’s expansion of its investment management practice over the past year, including Partners James Munsell, Max Karpel and Patrick Dundas.
