Amber Capital, an established event-driven investment manager in Europe, has been selected by Swiss bank Lombard Odier to manage PrivilEdge – Amber Event Europe (AEE) fund, a sub-fund of Lombard Odier Group’s open architecture UCITS umbrella range of funds.

The AEE fund aims to capture investment opportunities relating to corporate events and special situations by leveraging the experience and expertise of the Amber Capital investment team in a dedicated Europe-focused long/short equity strategy within a UCITS compliant format. Olivier Fortesa, Portfolio Manager of PrivilEdge – Amber Event Europe Fund, has been focussing on event-driven and special situation strategies since he joined Amber Capital at inception in 2005, having worked previously with Amber’s founder, Joseph Oughourlian, on the risk arbitrage desk at Société Générale in New York.
Olivier Fortesa says: “We are delighted to team up with one of Europe’s largest and renowned private banks to manage the first hedge solution on Lombard Odier’s PrivilEdge platform. With foreign investors playing a more significant role than ever in the European corporate landscape, and a fertile investment environment in Europe across a wide range of situations (M&A, IPOs, rights issues, spin-offs, asset disposals), we believe the event-driven universe in European equities is rich in opportunities for us to generate alpha for our investors across different market conditions.”
“PrivilEdge’s structure and flexibility offers our clients a wide choice of innovative solutions from the highest quality managers,” says Stéphane Monier, Chief Investment Officer of Lombard Odier’s private bank. “It has been well received by our clients globally and appeals to external investors, such as family offices and independent asset managers.”
Amber Capital has operated for more than a decade across the European value chain through multiple M&A cycles and its senior investment team has an average of 18 years’ experience investing in European companies.
