Related Topics

London-based hedge fund Arini Capital Management, which was founded four years ago by Hamza Lemssouguer and manages $12bn, has added Hassan Ajakane as an equity derivatives portfolio manager to strengthen its credit hedging capabilities, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Ajakane joins from DRW and previously spent nearly nine years at Morgan Stanley.

Arini, which has around 80% of its assets invested in performing credit, reported a 17% YTD return to the end of August.

The firm, which employs roughly 100 staff globally and recently opened an Abu Dhabi office led by former BlackRock leveraged finance head Jeysson Abergel, is known for its high pay levels, averaging $1.3m per head among 49 London employees.

Arini has also expanded its alternative strategies, hiring Shang-Wei Ye to manage a catastrophe bond portfolio. The new hires underscore the firm’s push to diversify its risk management and hedge credit exposure.
