Balyasny Asset Management has tapped former Segantii trader Benoit Pedrono as a Portfolio Manager focused on equities and delta one strategies, marking a notable hire in its continued Asia expansion, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Pedrono joins from 1020 Capital Management, where he served as Chief Investment Officer since co-founding the Hong Kong-based hedge fund in 2020.
Pedrono previously spent three years at Segantii Capital Management, well before its 2024 collapse, and held senior trading roles at HSBC, Barclays, and BNP Paribas. At HSBC, he was APAC head of equities delta one and index trading.
Joining Pedrono at Balyasny is Tommy Shun, a senior delta one trader from 1020 Capital. Shun brings a deep banking background, having held director-level roles at SocGen, Credit Suisse, and HSBC. At Balyasny, he will focus on multi-asset arbitrage.
