Bedell Cristin appoints new head for City-based Jersey law practice

Highly experienced lawyer Bruce Scott (pictured) has been appointed a partner of Bedell Cristin and will head the Jersey legal services team based in the City of London. – which is growing in response to client demand for City-based Jersey law expertise.

Scott will lead a team of specialist lawyers covering all the principal financial services areas – providing the ready-access Jersey law practice the firm’s clients and intermediaries need in the heart of the City.

Immediately before joining Bedell Cristin, he spent five years with another Jersey law firm, Ogier. As well as his offshore pedigree he also brings extensive experience in structuring and advising on a range of investment funds, corporate, real estate finance, banking and structured finance transactions.

Scott has worked previously in the UK, spending five years with the leading UK corporate and commercial law firm Dundas & Wilson and two years at Standard Life working on international corporate and regulatory matters and also on the company’s demutualisation and flotation.

Scott is cited by the IFLR1000 2010 guide to the world’s leading financial law firms as “very responsive and always willing to come up with solutions”.
