Blue Rice Investment Management, the Singapore-based credit and fixed income specialist, has created a new role and hired Jay Lee as senior marketing director reported AsianInvestor this week. Lee was head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (Korea), where he focused on sales and marketing from 2007 to 2009. In his new position at BRIM, Lee is charged with the responsibility of handling the Asian Credit fund’s marketing and capital raising duties and reports to the firm’s founder and principal, Guan Ong (pictured). Prior to working at GSAM Lee was one of the founding partners of Korean asset management firm Macquarie-IMM Asset Management, a joint venture established in 2000 between Australia’s Macquarie Bank and IMM. GSAM acquired the business in 2007. BRIM’s Asia Credit fund currently runs approximately USD60million.
