Jerome Saragoussi, Head of Macro Research and Strategy at Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, is leaving the firm to join Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, in June, according to a report by Business Insider.
The report cites unnamed people familiar with the matter as confirming the appointment of Saragoussi, who only joined Schonfeld in September from Eisler Capital, where he served as a Portfolio Manager, to work alongside Light Sky Capital founder Ben Melkman.
Saragoussi previously worked with Melkman at Light Sky as Head of Research and Strategy before the macro fund was shuttered in 2022.
Melkman joined Schonfeld in early 2023, but left in November of the same year as Schonfeld cut head count by 15% that month amid lacklustre returns and investor pressure.
