Broadridge Financial Solutions has rolled out a series of upgrades to its multi-asset portfolio and trade order management platform, strengthening its appeal to hedge funds and alternative investment managers seeking more unified front-to-back technology.
The enhancements include the introduction of fully integrated general ledger functionality and a redesigned user interface, which Broadridge said are aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening controls and supporting more informed investment decision-making across the buyside.
The new general ledger capabilities embed period accounting and financial statement reporting directly within the portfolio management system. The fund-level ledger automatically posts accounting entries for all investment activity, supports period adjustments and close workflows, and generates standard financial statements. By providing a comprehensive shadow book of record, the system allows investment managers to streamline month-end close processes and reconcile more efficiently with external fund administrators.
Broadridge said the integrated architecture is designed to support increasing demands from regulators and investors for transparency, data accuracy and robust fiduciary oversight, while also providing the scalability required by growing and increasingly complex alternative investment strategies.
Alongside the accounting enhancements, the firm has introduced a redesigned user interface that consolidates portfolio management, risk, analytics and reporting into a single workspace. The updated UI is intended to reduce reliance on multiple screens and systems, enabling portfolio managers and traders to access information more quickly and optimise day-to-day workflows.
Frank Cataudo, general manager of investment management solutions at Broadridge, said asset managers are under pressure to modernise fragmented technology stacks and enhance controls as competition intensifies. He added that the latest developments reflect Broadridge’s strategy to deliver a more unified, transparent and scalable investment management platform.
Broadridge’s multi-asset portfolio and trade order management platform is widely used by hedge funds, asset managers and asset owners across a range of asset classes. The firm said the latest upgrades reinforce its ambition to provide a comprehensive front-to-back solution for the evolving needs of the alternative investment industry.
