BTIG, a specialist in institutional trading, investment banking, research and related brokerage services, has launched a dedicated Hedge Fund Solutions Group to provide comprehensive advisory services to hedge funds and family offices.

According to a press statement, the initiative underscores the firm’s “commitment to supporting clients across the full investment lifecycle, as demand grows for institutional-grade infrastructure and strategic guidance”.

Paul Covello and David Gold will co-head the US division, bringing deep expertise from both the buy and sell sides. Trevor Harrison, CEO of BTIG Singapore, will lead efforts in the APAC region, while the Tactical Hedge Fund Group in London will continue to support clients across EMEA.

The new group will work in close coordination with BTIG’s institutional trading, outsourced trading, and prime brokerage businesses. It will advise clients on business strategy, operational infrastructure, due diligence, compliance, technology, and talent management.

Covello joins BTIG with over 25 years of experience, most recently serving as Global Head of Outsource Trading at Jefferies. He previously held leadership roles at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn, JAT Capital, and Pequot Capital.

Gold brings a similarly extensive background, including his role as Global COO at Optima Partners and advisory work at Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage Business Consulting team. Earlier roles include stints at BlackRock, Mitsui & Co, and Willis Towers Watson.

In Asia-Pacific, Harrison will lead the build-out of the Hedge Fund Solutions offering. He joined BTIG after roles in capital introduction and prime brokerage at Citigroup and State Street Australia.

BTIG operates globally with more than 700 employees across 20 cities, offering a range of services including execution, investment banking, research, prime brokerage, and capital introduction.
