The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued an Order granting CME Clearing Europe Limited registration as a derivatives clearing organisation (DCO) pursuant to Section 5b of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).
CME Clearing Europe is a private limited company organised under the laws of England and Wales. Under the terms of the Order, CME Clearing Europe Limited is authorised to clear swaps (as defined in the CEA) on energy, agricultural (to the extent permitted by the CEA and Commission regulations), freight and metals products executed either bilaterally or on or through a swap execution facility. CME Clearing Europe Limited may also clear forward contracts on energy, agricultural, freight and metals products.
