Citadel, the multi-strategy hedge fund major founded by Ken Griffin, has appointed Andrew Pidgeon, a senior executive from Segantii Capital Management, to head its Asia-Pacific treasury team, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter in confirming that Pidgeon, previously Segantii’s Global Head of Treasury and Financing, is expected to join Citadel in mid-August, where he will oversee liquidity management and relationships with key counterparties, including prime brokers and banks.
Citadel, which manages $63bn globally, has about 200 employees in Asia, primarily based in Hong Kong, with ongoing expansion in Singapore. Last month, Citadel acquired Energy Grid, a company that provides risk management products for Japanese companies dealing with electricity market price volatility.
