Citadel has strengthened its equities platform with the hire of Laura Sterner as head of business development for Citadel Global Equities, one of the flagship businesses within billionaire Ken Griffin’s $68bn multi-strategy hedge fund, according to a report by Reuters.
Sterner, who started in New York this week, will report to Justin Lubell, head of Global Equities, and take charge of recruiting and team-building across the unit. Her arrival underscores Citadel’s continued focus on attracting top talent to support growth in its equities franchise, which includes Surveyor Capital, Ashler Capital and International Equities alongside Citadel Global Equities.
Sterner brings more than a decade of hedge fund experience, most recently as global head of capital development and investor relations at Point72 Asset Management, where she was Steven Cohen’s top fundraiser. She left the firm in May and briefly served as a partner at Braidwell before joining Citadel.
